TAP Portugal - new routes from Lisbon to Cape Verde and Tangier

The Portuguese flag carrier TAP inaugurated two new routes from Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS). As from 27 October it is possible to fly from Lisbon to Boa Vista Airport (BVC) in Cape Verde and to Tangier Airport (TNG) in Morocco. 

The service to Boa Vista is available twice weekly, while flights to Tangier depart from Lisbon five times a week.

The new African routes from TAP Portugal add to the already existing  services to both Morocco and Cape Verde.

TAP’s destinations in Morocco, apart from the newest addition - Tangier, are Casablanca and Marrakech.

In Cape Verde, TAP offers regular services to Sal, Praia and São Vicente.

New routes to Boa Vista from Lisbon reflect the unstoppable popularity of Cape Verde as a tourist destination among Portuguese.

In order to fully appreciate the variety of Cape Verde tourist offer visit not only the largest island, but also the small inhabited islets, as Santa Luzia.

Traveling between the islands of Cape Verde is fairly easy and inexpensive, as apart from a scheduled ferry services (national ferries), there are also private operators offering transport for individual tourists and larger groups.

On the larger islands of Cape Verde car hire is a convenient and inexpensive option for moving around.

Car rental services are available on the Cape Verde airports, as well as in major towns.

Amongst the providers of Cape Verde car hire are well known brands, such as Avis Rent A Car, Europcar, Hertz, as well as local car rental companies, as for example Atlantico Rent A Car.

Cape Verde weather
Cape Verde enjoys a tropical climate with plenty of sunshine and warm weather all year round. Unlike in the typical tropical climate zone, rainfall is almost non-existent in Cape Verde and occasional showers can be expected between June and August.  In the summer season temperatures in Cape Verde reach 29-30 degrees Celsius.

With the average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius in January Cape Verde is a perfect destination for a sunny break during the cold European winter.

Please note that water temperature remains very steady throughout the year and quite high as for the Atlantic location.
