Europcar and Lufthansa partnership announced

Two giants of the travel industry – Europcar car rental brand and the German national carrier Lufthansa - teamed in offering a more complete travel experience, especially for those preparing their trip online.

As of late March, Lufthansa’s customers booking the flight via the carrier’s website will have an access to a wide range of car rental solutions from Europcar.

Europcar cars are available for rent now via Lufthansa website.

The collaboration between the two brands is not all new, as Europcar has been a partner of Lufthansa’s Miles & More loyalty programme for over 15 years. Through the recently signed agreement, however, the cooperation becomes more direct.

Lufthansa is the largest European airline in term s of fleet and in the segment of premium travel (in terms of the total number of passengers transported it is beaten only by the Irish low-cost carrier, Ryanair).

Europcar, on the other hand, is one of the leading car rental providers in Europe and worldwide alike, offering coverage in over 130 countries in Europe, North America, Western Asia and Africa. Since 2006, Europcar Group, which also includes the low-cost subsidiaries Interrent and Keddy by Europcar, is owned by Eurazeo, one of the largest investment companies in Europe.

According to Fabrizio Ruggiero, the Deputy CEO Sales, Marketing, Customers and InterRent of Europcar, both Europcar and Lufthansa share similar ideal, standing for “high quality of service and customer approach”.

Europcar is not an exclusive car rental partner of Lufthansa. When using the car rental search engine on the airline’s website, the customers will be presented with offers from Europcar, as well as from Sixt and Hertz, all three highly reputable brands.
