The low-cost airline Wizzair provides cheap flights to Varna with departures from London-Luton. Given Bulgaria’s growing popularity as a tourist destination in Europe, it is expected, however, that more direct routes to Varna will be made available from the UK in the nearest future. Charter carrier Thomas Cook Airlines announced opening of a new service Manchester - Varna in the summer of 2015.
The airport boasts a new terminal, the Terminal 2, which replaced a disused terminal 1. Inaugurated in 2013, Terminal 2 features contemporary architecture, modern solutions for passengers and an appealing commercial area.

The city of Varna breaths history; Varna Necropolis (burial site) is one of Europe’s prime archaeological sites. Other historical landmarks of Varna include the Assumption Cathedral of Varna, the Roman Baths, or the Aladzha Monastery.
