Porto Santo is one of the most visited Portuguese destinations outside the mainland. This second largest island of the Madeira archipelago on the Atlantic Ocean is popular due to paradisiac scenery and beautiful beach.

Porto Santo Airport - PXO is the main gateway to the island. The airport operates year round service to Lisbon and Funchal and a selection of seasonal and charter flights from several European countries, amongst them Germany, UK, Italy, Denmark and Belgium. Thomson Airways is the main carrier to offer flights from the UK to Porto Santo.

The airport is located in the centre of the island, in a 1.5 mile distance from Vila Baleira, Porto Santo’s main town.

It is also possible to travel to Porto Santo by ferry from Funchal, on Madeira island. The trip takes approximately 2h15min and costs 57 euros (per person, round trip) in the high season and 46 euros in low season (prices quoted in 2016).
