Porto Airport – OPO, officially referred to as Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, is the second busiest airport in Portugal. Having handled approx. 7 million passengers in 2014, the airport serves not only the city of Porto, regarded as “the northern capital of Portugal”, but also the densely populated area of Maia, Vila do Conde and Matosinhos in the Portuguese North.

Porto, as well as the surrounding area are an important industrial and economic centre in Portugal and Porto Airport has seen a substantial growth of business travellers over the last decade.

Porto Airport is also a first stop in Portugal for many tourists visiting the city, which is, repeatedly, occupying prominent position in the rankings of the most popular city destinations in Europe. In fact, in 2014 Porto was voted the Best European Destination.

Competitive offers are often available from the off-site providers, some of which with offices located in very close from the airport, at Barreiro St. across the major access road from the terminal.

Porto car hire – rates
