Benidorm Old Town - historic attractions of Benidorm
Benidorm is famous for its modern, tall architecture and its skyline is marked by many skyscrapers. There are not many traces of the city’s past as a quiet fishing village, except for the very compact area of Benidorm’s historic quarters.

The Old Town of Benidorm is situated in the very centre of the city, north of a rock promontory where in the past existed a fortress built with the purpose of defending the Spanish coast from the attacks of the Berber pirates. Overlooking the Benidorm beaches, the Balcon del Mediterraneo (the Balcony of the Mediteranean)  is a mandatory stop to every tourist in this part of Costa Blanca.

Please note that a large part of all Terra Mítica attractions is suitable for children aged 7 and up. Despite the variety of adrenaline pumping rides and rollercoasters, younger children may feel bored. You can easily spend the whole day at Terra Mitica and at meal times food stalls and restaurants are available. Terra Mitica is situated outside of Benidorm, so your hire vehicle may come in handy.

Children of all ages will surely enjoy Aqualandia waterpark located on the eastern outskirts of Benidorm. The Aqualandia offers a range of attractions, including splash pools for the little ones, as well as some adrenaline pumping rides for the older holidaymakers.

For a complete Benidorm experience, do not miss out on Mundomar, the animal and sea life park. Mundomar is located next to Aqualandia, so a visit to both places can be combined.
