The airport is located in Kastrup, approx. 5 miles south of Copenhagen, on the island of Amager. Kastrup Airport or Copenhagen Airport - Kastrup are names widely used, while the local designation of the airport is Københavns Lufthavn.

Terminal 1 serves all the domestic flights at CPH. Terminals 2 and 3 handle international (Schengen and non-Schengen) flights.

Since 2010, low-cost carriers Easyjet and Transavia operate from a designated area accessible from Terminal 2 and known as CPH GO Terminal, Low-Cost Terminal or Terminal 4. The construction of dedicated, modern facilities for Terminal 4 of CPH Airport is planned for the near future.

Public transportation at Copenhagen Airport

Trains at Copenhagen Airport
Copenhagen Airport train station is located under Terminal 3 and operates local, as well as long-distance services. It is possible to travel from Copenhagen Airport not only to the city centre but also to other Danish cities, amongst them Aarhus, Aalborg, Sonderborg and Esbjerg. International trains from Copenhagen Airport are available to Malmo, Gothenburg and Karlskrona, as well as to Flensburg in Germany. Please remember that the ticket offices of the Copenhagen Airport trains are located above the station, in Terminal 3. In the station area, accessible form the terminal by elevators and moving walkways, tickets can only be purchased from the automatic ticket machines.

Copenhagen Airport metro station
The airport is connected to the city centre by line M2 (yellow line) of the Copenhagen metro.

The metro station is located in Terminal 3 of CPH. Frequent trains run 24 hours a day and the trip between the airport and the city (Norreport Station ) takes approx. 15 minutes.

Buses at Copenhagen Airport
Look for the 5A bus to take you from the airport directly to Copenhagen city centre, with stops at Copenhagen Central Station, the City Hall or Nørreport Station.

The trip takes around half an hour. The bus runs every 10 minutes during daytime.

Please note that there are also long-distance buses travelling between Copenhagen Airport and for example Arhus in Denmark(bus no. 888), or cities abroad. The Graahundbus service offers links from Copenhagen Airport to Malmo in Sweden, Swinoujscie in Poland or Berlin in Germany. See Graahundbus timetables (in Danish). Bus links from Copenhagen Airport are also available to the Danish Bornholm, via ferry from the Swedish Ystad.

Taxi
If, despite the comfort of public transportation, you prefer to travel from the airport to Copenhagen city centre by taxi, the rate is approx. 200 Danish Krone / £21. With favourable traffic conditions, the journey takes around 20 minutes.

The Greater Copenhagen is divided into 95 different zones and 9 zone rings.

The coloured zones are helpful in calculating the fares for public transportation in Copenhagen. Although moving around the strict city centre of Copenhagen requires tickets for two zones only, transfer to CPH Airport from the city centre means a ride across three zones. Copenhagen Airport is located in the red zone, numbered 1.
